General Cleaning

All materials are susceptible to dirt and dust, so it is important to incorporate regular cleaning to extend the life of your product. Any spot stains should be removed as soon as practical, and products should be dried thoroughly after cleaning to remove any residue.

It is important to ensure that the power supply has been turned off before cleaning.

Glass

For clear or coloured glass wipe with a either a dry soft cotton cloth or one that has been dampened with water. If the shade can be removed from the fixture, this can be washed in a sink with hot water. Frosted or etched glass should only be cleaned with a duster or soft cloth. Avoid strong cleaning agents as they may damage the surface of the glass.

Brass & Copper

Brass will naturally develop a patina over time and with exposure to the environment. This is part of the natural ageing process but can be removed with a specific brass cleaner if required. For general cleaning of your brass or copper product, simply use a soft and dry cotton cloth. Avoid any detergent as it can damage the surface of the material.

Powder-Coated Finishes

Powder-coated surfaces are durable and should require little cleaning. To remove any residue, wipe the surface with a soft cotton cloth. If further cleaning is needed, use a damp cloth diluted with a mild detergent and then dry thoroughly with a dry cotton cloth. Do not use any harsh solvents or abrasive cleaners as it can damage the coating.

Plated Finishes

Regular cleaning will help prevent any discolouration from build-up of residue. Wipe products with a damp cloth, diluted with a mild detergent and dry thoroughly. Do not use any harsh solvents or abrasive cleaners as it can damage the coating.

Ceramic & Stoneware

Clean or dust lightly with a soft cotton cloth or a cloth moistened in lukewarm water. Glazed surfaces can be cleaned with a mild detergent. Dry thoroughly to remove any leftover residue. Do not use any harsh solvents or abrasive cleaners as it can damage the surface.

Wood

Wooden products should be cleaned with a soft cotton cloth, or a cloth moistened in warm water. Always wipe in the direction of the grain and dry thoroughly with a cotton cloth. Specific wood cleaning products can be used if a more substantial clean is necessary. Do not use any harsh solvents or abrasive cleaners as it can damage the surface of the wood.

Fabric

Regular cleaning will help prevent dirt getting into the fibres of the fabric. Lightly dust with a feather duster, soft cloth or gently vacuum to remove the dirt. A small amount of delicate fabric detergent mixed with cool water can be lightly applied with a microfibre cloth before wiping clean and drying. Avoid rubbing as it may damage the fabric.

Acrylic

Wipe the surface with a soft cotton cloth to remove any dirt or dust. If deeper cleaning is required, use a damp cloth diluted with a mild detergent and then dry thoroughly with a cotton cloth. Do not use any harsh solvents or abrasive cleaners as it can damage the surface and leave it looking cloudy.
